Hello,
I have just pushed a new revision of the genesys backend (build 41)
that
raises the default gamma of LiDE 100/200 to 1.7 instead of 1.0. It would be
nice if you could test this version (now available in the git source tree) to
see how it improves the image darkness issue

Hi people,
in my wokplace they have acquired a new Canon CanoScan LiDE 100 scanner,
it works perfectly using the Genesys backend, but there are a few
glitches I'd like to ask you about:
First, the default color gamma, brightness, contrast is too dark. This
is not a problem if using XSane, as it
I see, thanks for the information. Everything is fine, then.
Cheers,

Hello,
I can confirm that the Canon Canoscan LiDE 100 scanner now works with SANE:

Could someone update this page please?
http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html
And change from "Unsupported" to "Supported" in front of the scanner?

The page you list is for the last stable release of sane, which did
not support the lide 100, so that page is accurate and will not change
until the next sane release.
The info you seek is here:

Allan,
Thanks very much for the pointers. I was able to get some logs from the
windows driver and did find the datasheets for the other chips. So as
not to duplicate effort, can you give me an idea of how much you're
working on this? What kind of progress have you made and would you be
willing
I have started some preliminary work on this, but I have not done
enough to be worth publishing. You can find datasheets for the GL848
(and the 846 IIRC), but not the 847, which seems to be a canon
specific model with integrated AFE?
You can get some sniff logs of windows driver in action, and att
I have a Canon CanoScan LiDE 100(b) scanner for which I'm interested in
helping develop sane support. I see there was a previous email about
this here:

I can confirm lsusb -vv is the same on my scanner (see below) and
Does anyone have experience with this scanner? I originally purchased
a LiDE 25 (because it is supported by the plustek backend) but it was
DOA, and Canon replaced it with the LiDE 100, which seems to be a new
model. I can not find reference to it in the supported hardware list,
