Dear all,
Here are two more SniffUSB traces for the CanoScan 8800F.
1) The result of asking for "replug" of the scanner in SniffUSB
(12.9kB unzipped).
2) The result of scanning a 2inch wide by 1inch high white sheet of
printer paper at 75dpi using the Canon utility for this (limitation is

Bah! It seems I missed some instructions about paus
Dear all,
Sorry for the delay, had some trouble bringing up one of my required
vmware network services. Anyway, I got a first SniffUSB 2.0.0006 (x86)
trace of the CanoScan 8800F, and want to check with knowledgable
people if I had done the right thing. It is a trace of the ON and OFF
button action
Now that's puzziling. I disassembled the unit today and I've found 3
chips, as expected. But I haven't seen any like these before. Here goes:
IC1:

QK1-3675

IC2:
HYNIX 641U C
HY57V641620ETP-H
KOR NCDK250702
IC3:
QKI-3562-01 (it might also be an "O" instead of "Q")

To push this up a little bit... I've been fiddling around the drivers,
got some nice snoops and trying to get some usable info out of them (and
am totally fed up with W**) - definitely it is CNQ4805 as suggested
before.
I will try to disassemble it later on - but I'm afraid dust might get
into it.
Manufactures tend to hide the screws under the plastic/rubber feet.
Pry them up with a spludger or thin standard screwdriver, and see if
it's there.

The chipset could not be determined. Perhaps you could open the
machine to get labels from the chips?
