[sane-devel] Help with ppdev /dev/parport0 on Mandrake Linux 9

sfer(1) [canon_pp] IEEE transfer (1 bytes) but doesn't complete. Help with. 1. setting up the parallel port so that non-root users can use it 2. If solution 1 involves module ppdev, then how to stop the hanging. Mandrake kernel is 2.4.19-16. I have read on a previous umax post about=20 " I assume you are using a kernel version >2.4.18. Since 2.4.19, and the introduction of O_NONBLOCK semantics in /dev/parport" and would like to know if there is a fix workaround for this. Thanks Mark

[sane-devel] hp-backend not compiled with PTAL support

I keep getting this message. Are there specific instructions for compiling the hp backend with PTAL support? I have the hpoj software installed and working OK with my OfficeJet V40. I did run ./configure --with-ptal=/usr/local/hpoj --prefix=/usr/local/sane but this did not help. __

MT" appear to manufacture chiefly/only RAM - which is a little puzzling as an "M11B416256A-35J" also sounds like a RAM chip to me. Perhaps they also make some sort of microprocessor.
