I have a Canon FB630U scanner and I got it to work with Sane with
Linux since kernel 2.4.16
With kernel 2.6 I can not get it to work again.
I asked Nathan Ruthman (the author of the backend) if he has any idea and he
answered me that
he got rid of that scanner before kernel 2.6 c

I have the same problem with my CanonFB630U.
The scanner did run with Kernel 2.4 and first it did also run with 2.6 in Suse
9.1 (but only
as root) .
Since one of the onlineupdates I could not get it to work again - always the
"device busy"-
problem.

I am running Suse 9.2 for AMD64 and I have a Canon FB630u.
When I do a scanimage -L I get this message:
device `canon630u:libusb:002:003\' is a CANON Canoscan FB630U flatbed scanner
When I do a scanimage I get
scanimage: sane_start: Device busy
and this entrys in my /var/log/messag
