Dear powfry
1. you need to enable saned on your LAN:
/etc/sane.d/saned.conf
# saned.conf
#
# The contents of the saned.conf file is a list of host names, IP
# addresses or IP subnets (CIDR notation) that are permitted to use local
# SANE devices. IPv6 addresses must be enclosed in bracket
well, first, the DCP7010 isn't supported yet by SANE, as far as I can
tell. The DPR2000 doesn't either. maybe the external backend for
brother devices might help you:
http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-external.html but your
device isn't listed (yet).
also, what's within the DPR2000? i

something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

hi all,
since updating to the new backends and packages (apt-get
dist-upgrade), I get errors and my scanner is not working anymore. it
still can be found and scanimage -L works. But the device is busy. as
it seems, some kernel driver occupies the device and does not allow
sane to use it.

Hi,
Using sane and niash with the device works perfectly, but there is one issue.
Scanning with scanimage using default settings, the slide tries to go slightly
off the rails and makes a klack and cracking noise. It is therefore necessary
to specify -l
Should we change the backend acordingly?

I am using a HP Scanjet 3300c with sane and niash backend, using saned
as standalone server; works perfect as a network scanner.
What I would like to do now is map the hardware buttons on the scanner
to a shell script, scanning the page and saving it to a defined
folder. Is this possible anyho
