Just lightly tested and It works with xsane and simplescan (USB and WIFI)!

a fast test show a little problem : white => greyish (not the case with
unwanted minimalist scangearmp2).
Do i need to calibrate the device (if possible), or just tinker with xsane
settings ?

i just bought one Canon Pixma MG2950 and here is sane-find-scanner output :
