Hi!
I have put the very first SpoonSet package on my
website:
http://www.el-profesor.net/spoonset/?page=10.
It contains a port of the Windows driver + a frontend
program. The programs don't fit into the SANE
framework yet, it's still all proprietary.
If you own a scanner from Spot Technologies,
Hi!
A quick note for the 2 or 3 people (that includes me)
who need a backend for Spot flatbed scanners -- the
devices with the proprietary ISA board and the DB25
connector that looks like a parallel plug.
The porting of the Windows driver is nearly done; I
think only a few things need tweaking be

It should be "entrelacé", not "entrelaçé". And
"entrelaçage" should be "entrelacement".
But that's right that "dither" is translated to
"tramage", so my remarks above are

Er, "bc" and "3f" are just two distinct bytes in
hexadecimal, 188 and 63 respectively. It seems you are

Hi!
I've begun "publishing" my work on Spot scanners. It's
not yet very advanced, but it's meant to be the
reference for my investigations.
You can find it at

Comments of all sorts are welcome!

Well, that's fair of you!
Also, I use Yahoo! Mail and by default, "unusual"

that there is no explicit hint in the message bodies

Hi Alex,
Just a quick note to say that no guarantee can be
given as to when a new driver/backend will be
available!
I shouldn't be wrong in saying that everybody working
on those various projects are doing this in their
spare time...

Hi!
I'm working on a driver for my scanner, which has a
16-bit Spot ISA card. It's a MaxiScan A4 but I think
it's been rebadged by several companies.
Some questions though:
- is it really an SCSI interface? I know nothing about
SCSI; all I can tell is that to drive my scanner, you
have to map t

That sounds encouraging! :)
Well, honestly, it looks quite easy (with the help of
the debugging info of course), though it's challenging
since I'm not familiar with drivers in the Linux world
-- and little in the Window
Hi,
(long post)
I'm considering writing a driver and backend for my
scanner, which, to my knowledge, is not supported yet.
For info, here are some specs & numbers I could find
on it (I think it used to be shipped under various
brand names and models):
- name: MaxiScan A4
- interface: proprietary
