Xsane registers the presence of genesys as a valid scanner
As far as I can determine, the HP driver for the 2400/g2410,
used via Xsane, supports 150, 200, 300, 60, 1200 dpi.
It does not support 50, 75, 100.
Perhaps there is a mechanical reason for this.

I downloaded the new version of sane-backends-genesys from your web page.
I configured it with |./configure --enable-libusb and then ran make|
I then attached and switched on the scanner,

I did a manual translation of the instructions in Portuguese that
Fernando found for installing a driver for these scanners that is freely
available from a company in India. I emailed this to the list yesterday.
I have now downloaded and installed this driver and everything works

I know Portuguese so I have made a more free-form manual translation of
the instructions Fernando found on the Brazilian blog. Hope it helps. I
haven't tried it yet with my HP G2410.

Yes. Stef and I are working on the HP G2410 (that seems to be logically
equivalent to the HP2400c). These use the GL646_HP chipset. We have got
as far as doing a series of test scans with a local compilation of the

I have used gawk to analyze the the UsbSnoop log files for the HP G2410 scanner.
I have 3 files. One for colour scan, one for grey-scale scan, one for
monochrome scan.
I have made a .zip file for each of them.
colour.log.decode.zip (1.7 MB)
