scanimage -L fails as user (succeeds as root).
As user:
$ SANE_DEBUG_EPJITSU=255 scanimage -L
...
[epjitsu] attach_one: start 'libusb:001:003'
[epjitsu] connect_fd: start
[epjitsu] connect_fd: opening USB device
[epjitsu] connect_fd: could not open device: 11
[epjitsu] connect_fd: finish
[epjitsu]

The ScanSnap seems to use the epjitsu backend instead of the scansnap:

I'm trying to get a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100 to work on my Debian Wheezy.
Running "scanimage >test.pnm" results in "Out of memory" error.
