I'm not sure how to force xsane to use the development backends that should
support S1100.
Can you provide steps?

Im running ubuntu 14.04 32 bit and Xsane was previously working fine for
years but after a recent update I'm encountering out of memory errors on
scan attempt.
It seems to be detecting the wrong device for scanning even though I am
selecting the correct device on startup.
'sudo sane-find-scann
Although I also think this is a bug because it should default to auto
detect but seems to be choosing 275.00mm instead.. A4 diameters I think,
but its too exact.

Its Xsane
I figured it out tho.. just go show standard options and increase the paper
height or setting it to zero for auto detect works well too.
lets fix the spelling! :)

Whatever I scan has the bottom cut off.
Ive tried increasing the Paper Geometrie in Preferences > Setup > copy but

(Shouldn't it be spelt Geometry as well?)
How should I increase the papersize scanned for slightly larger than A4 so
I capture everything?

I am trying to test this scanner shown as supported through the epjitsu
backend.
http://www.sane-project.org/cgi-bin/driver.pl?manu=fujitsu&model=scansnap&bus=any&v=&p=
However Xsane does not detect any scanning device attached however it does
see the usb connection
I am running Ubuntu 11.04
