Joseph, I "think" warmup patch for Epson V700 was picked up on mainline, I
haven't updated my sane installation I do not know for sure.
I'm cc'ing Sane dev list - sure you can get answer from here. If it's not
mailined I can send you my patch.

I did 8x10 scanning back off CIS Canon Lido several years ago for Sinar P2, at
that time there was no SANE Lido support and I had to hack quite a bit.
Recently I've seen Lido support added - for $80 for scanner it worth trying.
Note - even after I made it work there were problems with few miss
I've seen similar behaviors with HP & Epson scanners on OSX. Problem (in my
case) was that factory scanner software launches daemons on USB hotplug that
grab device (scanner).
My way of dealing with it (and use SANE) - kill HP (or Epson) daemons and
anything twain ... and use SANE afterward.
I had to change couple of places in epson2 driver to make it work on Epson v700
with transparency unit. One of them is timeout on warm up and other with TPU
detection.
Your log looks like warm up timeout (maybe not), bellow are fixes that worked
for me.
There are few places in code that check
sane user.
Thanks!

Hello, when I scan at bit rate higher than 8 I get corrupted images (see links
bellow). It does not matter if I use color or grayscale. Looking at images I
may guess what tiff scanline is packed not right, but I maybe wrong.
I can do changes and rebuild/retest backend.
