The epkowa backend was not installed on my old version of ubuntu.
But my problem was resolved by changing the file /etc/sane.d /dll.conf
In this file I desactivated use of epson2 backend and I speeded up
use of epson backend.

Sane acknowledged perfectly my scanner Epson GT 7000 and it up to
the version 9.10 of Ubuntu.
With the version 10.04 of Ubuntu the scanner is acknowledged as a
generic scanner.
Here is the answer of scanimage:
