I noticed now that the carriage isn't returned properly,
stops about 1/3 in the return. It's being returned
properly first when a next scan happens. What gives?

Hi,
Ever since installing sane-backends-1.0.18.tar.gz my Epson
Perfection 3490 always warms up with each an every scan, no
matter how promptly I am doing the scans, one after the other.
Any ideas?

the Perfection 3490 should just read 120 bytes even
when firmware isn't loaded yet.
The fix is in snapscan-scsi.c.
Here are two kinds of diffs, I'm not sure which format is mandatory.
The diffs are against CVS snapshot sane-backends-2005-09-15.
