I'm working on updating the OpenBSD port of sane-backends from 1.0.16 to 1.0.17.
Unfortunately, one user is having an issue with a CanoScan device.
I'm forwarding his mail so maybe you could give me a hint on what's going on and
why it might not be working. I, for one, am using sane with

I don't know about sane policy, but basically you shoud use strlcpy,
strncpy

I'm in the process of making a sane-backends port to OpenBSD.
So far, I encountered only one problem.
When starting scanimage with DEBUG, I can see that it is looking for
*.so.1.15 libs (ie : libsane-epson.so.1.15). The thing is, this lib does
not exist, but *.so.1 (ie : libsane-epson.so.1
