It is possible that the capabilites of the scanner are improved under
later versions of the epson2 backend.

I've managed to compensate it manually by specifying manual afe settings
in gt68xx.conf - could anyone confirm wheth

If you run scanimage --help on both machines, you should see the same

That directed me to what I was doing wrong
when I start xsane it asks me to pick from two scanners

I have a Epson GT-3 on a Fedora 11 box. running xsane it has what
looks like all its features, for example the ADF can be duplexing.
I've just set up saned on that box.
The client I'm using is Linux Mint 9 (Ubuntu under the covers), it

Hi @all,
I'm very new in Linux. I just installed Ubuntu Natty on my System.
Will ther be a driver in Sane for the Canon LiDe90 Scanne.
I can not run it. I had teh same Problem in Maverick.
Thanks a lot
Sincerely
Achim
The LiDE 90's use a custom chipset that can't be coded against. Your
best bet is to get an LiDE 20/25/30 or a 100/200.
http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-CANON has the list.
