I am trying to get my scanner (on a Centos 5.3 machine) to be accessible for a
not root user. I have created a scanner group and edited the 60-libsane.rules
file adding GROUP="scanner" at the end of the line where my scanner is listed.
I rebooted, however, I am still not able to make the scann

Would you mind if I posted a couple of lines of the log files here, in
case someone recognizes the type of protocol (SCSI for example). There
are several backend files for Canon serving SCSI protocol, I just do
