I've just joined this mailing list after realizing (too late) that the
new scanner (HP G4050) I bought with my new PC doesn't have LINUX
drivers. Somehow, during the hardware research before the purchase
I assumed that such a large company as HP will write drivers
for all of its scanners f

Ok I have managed to use SniffUSB to extract some data during the
calibration and preview stages, there is too much to post here but im
not sure how to interpret it. I have tried usb-robot but am struggling
to get it working (it tells me there is a problem finding libusb header

I have a couple of suggestions based on my previous attempts at adding support.
1. Google "gl842 datasheet" and download a copy. Print it out and study it.
2. Get a free website. I use google sites. You can compress and upload your usb
sniff logs.
