it should work. you will just have to make sure to:
1. give the correct arguments to configure
2. setup the correct symlinks in /usr/lib/sane
3. copy the config file to /etc/sane.d
4. add the name of the backend to /etc/sane.d/dll.conf
But honestly, it might be easier to rebuild the entire sane-b

I had configurate the file "gt68xx.conf"as:

override "plustek-opticslim-m12"
firmware "/usr/share/sane/gt68xx/cism216.fw"
vendor "Iris"
model "Iris scan express 2"
afe 0x20 0x02 0x22 0x03 0x1f 0x04
but when I scanning I have this message
The scanner is busy.

ng with GCC. Try setting up a shell that doesn't have visibility to
/opt/SUNWspro/lib or gives priority to "/lib" first (using LD_LIBRARY_PATH).
