Hi,
am I overlooking something or is the backend for the HP ScanJet 4c SCSI
scanner not capable of producing a black and white scan? So far, I have
only seen a choice for gray-scale.

I have searched high and low and can't find a solution:
On ppc with 10.4.7 my Epson Perfection 1660 Photo worked great.
I have since got a Mac Pro.
I re-downloaded the latest packages of the SANE/TWAIN distros, and
although the scanners is correctly identified, (and adding usb 0x4b8
