MY SYSTEM: debian etch i386 from new RC1 netinstall
gnome gui (no nvidia drivers)
Everything OK, included openGL (with added libmotif)
and Xsane operating on scsi HP scanjet 6200c.
usb Coolscan V (LS-50 ED) detected with:
$cat /proc/bus/usb/devices
though not by xsane 0.99+0.991-1

I have two small logs, each of which I've runned throught the
spike4.pl script, from the Canon CanoScan4200F.
