Hello,
sane-backends 1.0.18 RPM packages built for Suse Linux 10.1
for 32-bit Intel compatible (i586) and for 64-bit AMD (x86_64)
are available for testing (and only for testing) at
http://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/jsmeix/unsupported/sane/10.1/
For me it works well (even on 64-bit AMD).

Hi,
Thanks sane-project.
How could I use my LS-5000?
I try to use my Nikon LS-5000 (SUPER SOOLSCAN 5000, USB2.0) with
sane-backends (from CVS), and sane-frontends (from CVS) on Debian
GNU/Linux Sarge with kernel 2.6.16.20.

Gilberto,
There are a few things to check with this all-in-one. First, you MUST
have USB2.0. It will not work with USB1.1!
Second, there may be an issue with usb communication due to interaction
with the printer part of the x1195. Before you do a scan try unplugging
the x1195 power cable, wait

says the Expression 1XL is supported (status good). As this model
uses the ESC-I protocol, it should also work with the epson
