I can confirm your hunch, the V700/V750 scanners do use the ESC/I protocol, and from what I know (I have not seen one yet) about these scanners, chances are pretty good that they will work the current version of the EPSON backend. You do need to add the USB information to the epson.desc fil

I'm back with another UMax. I seem to be having a problem with the scsi buffer size setting. If I increase it from the default 32768 by even a small amount, I get an out of memory error immediately on starting to preview. Using the default of 32768 I can preview and scan in line art and gray sca
