When your scanner has a special
scansource defined for the Automatic Document Feeder
then select the mode for Automatic Document Feeder Modus

I've been googling for a USB sniffer that I can use on Mac OS X, but
all I've come up with are sniffers for Windows. Anyone knows of one?

in the SANE CVS experimental branch, there's also a script for the
usb sniffer output. It's based also on Thomas Soumarmon's awk script
and has been extended since.
