While comitting the sanei_pv8630 files I wondered if we should add the
authors of all the sanei files to the AUTHORS file. As this is quite
an important part of SANE, the authors should be named in this file in
my humble opinion. At least for the files that don't only consist of
some #defines.

Hi,
the HP 7xxx series is not supported by the hp-backend. So modifying
hp.conf does not work. Please have a look at the sane-devel mailing list
archives at www.mostang.com/sane. Currently there is some development to
support a 7400 by the Avision (??) backend.

I have an HP7490 and have installed sane back and front ends, but it looks like
the software isn't seeing the scanner:
sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner "hp scanjet 7400c 0.8M" at device
