this is in fact a usb problem, starting in 2.4.13 and still
continuing. If you'd like to have a working scanner, use
2.4.12 or below...

scanner. It looks like a Scan Dual II with ICE, ROC, etc, and it offers
FireWire as well as USB. I was wondering if anyone got his hands on this
