Probably this entry is from your distribution and points to its own
xsane. If that's true, you'd better remove the link.

I've worked through the FAQs, HOWTOs and man pages and think I've reached the
stage where I need to ask here. It's not a brilliant scanner (used to lock
sometimes in Windows), but I thought I'd see if it works. It isn't listed

I'm afraid that I and Eric found a quite serious problem for SCSI
command queueing under more recent Linux kernels:

Hi developers!
I'm preparing the release of SANE 1.0.6 so please do not commit any

Hi there,
I'd like to announce the first version of the LM983x-USB driver for SANE.
The stuff is based on sources I got from Plustek and currently supports some
the their devices like the U12, UT12, UT16, U24 and others.
As the driver is very generic, it should be possible to integrate very easily

That may help in this case but usually it's not necessary to install
libusb for SANE or xsane if you don't need the sm3600 backend. This
backend is th

Hi,
I'm trying to compile xsane 0.80 under Mandrake 8.1. The configure script
fails with:
checking for png.h... yes
checking for png_create_info_struct in -lpng... yes
ERROR: SANE-1.0.0 or newer is needed for compiling xsane
