Hello Christoph,
I just tested xsane-win32-0.79 with saving color tiff file
and could not find a problem.
The scan was done with a single pass scanner. But there is
no difference in the conversion of a 1 pass color scan and
a 3 pass color scan. In 3 pass color scan the image is
collected and when

Hi,
I'm getting segmentation faults while running my newly installed sane 1.0.5
with xsane .79. All the packages (xsane, libsane 1.0.5, sane backends 1.0.5,
sane frontends 1.0.5) were installed from RPMs from the Mandrake mirror.
When I run xsane from a konsole, I get this error:

You don't need the vendor and product IDs in modules.conf for any
recent kernel for the 1200... And if you actually add the options
line, you need the 0x prefix, ot

Ok, I think part of my problem may have been my own stupidity, but only
partly and it still doesn't explain everything.
I was getting my instructions from
http://www.freecolormanagement.com/sane/usb_scanner.html
and they have a list of vendor and product id's. 0x04b8 and 0x0104

Hi,
As I want to work on the planned backend for lm983x based scanners
during the next few weeks I would be interested in the results of the
work some people wanted to do on this topic. I wanted to start with
the support of the Mustek BearPaw 1200 and see if it's easily possible
to support other s
Hi - anyone know if work is continuing on the HP ScanJet 4200C backend? The
patch I have for sane is alpha version and I haven't seen anything on it for
a while.
cheers, Julian

Hi!
From now on, the mailing list archive (both the old and the new) can
be searched at http://sane.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/htdig/search.html.
The search database is updated daily. The software is htdig 3.1.5 &

Hi all,
problems when scanning LineArt with microtek2 9600xl:
Usage of "png" output format produces a hashed picture,
all other picture formats are OK.
I think this is _no microtek2_ driver problem, but
a problem of a wrong conversion.
My platform: LINUX RedHat 7.1, Kernel 2.4.9

I think I accidentally replied off list without thinking, so I'll try this
again. I'm using kernel 2.4.6. The motherboard is a via, I forget the
exact model, but it is pretty new; I just got this computer last June and
it was a treat so I went pretty highend. It is an Athlon 850 (remember,

Hi People,
when I scan an color image as tiff, there is too much blue in it (or
another color is not there?). When I use other file-formats, all works fine.
I'm using a microtec E2 3-Pass-Scanner.
So long, Christoph
