I have a Visioneer 6100 Scanner and Documentation/usb/scanner.txt says that
it is supported... Yet it doesnt work when I start xsane. Has anyone got
this to work?

Very old. You need to do 'export SANE_SG_BUFFERSIZE=32768' with a kernel that

Yes. I do that. Otherwise scanimage can't allocate the buffer, and just
exits.

I would like to scan with xsane0.79 for Windows, but the scanner is connected
to
a Linux-Computer (SUSE 7.2). Sane and xsane work fine on the maschine.
The IP-Adress of the Linux-Maschine ist included in C:\sane\etc\sane.d\net.conf.
On the linux-system samba is running and /dev/usbscanner
