Hi, I just tried to compile xsane-0.79 on my SuSE 7.2 system and had some problems to enable gimp support. After running "configure" I get the following checking for gtk-config... /usr/bin/gtk-config checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... yes checking for gimp-config... no checking for gimptool.

Update on scanner problems: (1) HP 6300C on SCSI machine (SANE 1.0.5/Xsane 0.79): Got Xsane to compile (thanks Peter - it was due to gtk.h being in a non-standard directory). It scans using Xsane, but only in "Normal" mode. The XPA setting (transparency adapter) doesn't work - it times out and

I am running redhat 7.1 and sane 1.0.3. My problem is that sane can't see my hp 5200 usb scanner even though it says it supports it. I think the problem is that redhat doesn't recognize it on startup as a usb device. Any suggestions? __ Do You Yahoo!
