AHHHGot it. Thanks - that's exactly what I needed - someone to insist
on doing the basics
1) Please attach the complete linbox build log (the filename is
mentioned in the "Error installing..." message).
2) How much RAM + swap does this machine have?
3) What is the output of "uname -a"?
4) Does "dmesg" show anything suspicious?

I've been trying to install sage 5.6 and 5.7 on a CENTOS 6 x86_64 platform.
I have previously managed to compile 5.6 on this same platform, so I know
it can be done.
I keep running into the same problem. It gets a good way through the
compilation before chucking a fatal error when in the LinBox
So I just got the Ubuntu 9.04 netbook remix and installed sage through
the terminal by typing Sage and then it asked me if I wanted to
install... So I said yes and it did... Now I am having a lot of
difficulties with it. When I try to run a test, all I get is:
sage: -testall
