That's what I thought re Python (also resetting the admin password wasn't
the problem).
It all seems to be magically fixed now. I suspect the server guy (who's
been great setting this all up) was ignoring my barrage of confused emails
and just fixed it. I'm hoping that's what happen

That shouldn't be an issue, since Sage includes its own version of Python.

Log in as admin, click on "Settings" and then "Manage Users" to see a
list of accounts. There's an option to rest a password there for each
user.
