I appreciate the great work done on the notebook, but I noticed a few
usability degradations in the 2.4 notebook, having to do with focus of
input cells. I think these are due to the introduction of syntax
highlighting in cells without focus. The highlighting is useful, but
the following problems
When I have a the time I'll add a setting page where the user can set
using cookies that they don't want syntax highlighting. I'll move the
highlighting javascript to a new file and based on the user's cookie
I'll enable or disable highlighting for the page.

On the example page, I was not able move from textarea 1 to textarea2
using arrow keys. I think it would be nice if the width of the row
numbering column was dynamic. The full screen mode is very nice. I
personally love and can't wait to use it. It would be nice if the

The widget is extremely robust, and well thought-out. Writing plugins for it
is extraordinarily easy (presupposing skill in javascript), so integrating it
into the notebook with all of the existing features is going to clean up my
javascript quite a bit.

Hi,
Regarding the review, which mentions the stats package R, a lot of people have
written me off list about creating an interface to R. Note that there
has been a Python <--> R
interface since before SAGE was ever written:

I haven't used it, but imagine it wo
