I did that and widgetsnbextension builds. The Python version is 3.5.1. I
did not try to build all of Sage that way.

This is a new behaviour in 7.6.beta0.
I cannot reproduce this. Installing widgetsnbextension works for me,
both with Python 2 and Python 3.
