Hello.
There is a workaround explained here :

Note this problem persists with Sage 4.2

So the R package compilation has failed. My current gcc version is

Hello Sage team.
While doing some engineering calculations with Sage, I've encountered
some problems requiring "computational geometry" algorithms. So I've
snooped around and found "CGAL". Are you aware this set of tools
exists ? It seems VERY useful. I express this suggestion because the

Hi.
memtest86+ reports some memory errors...
I'm going to fix that.
Thorough inspection of my SCSI hard drive (badblocks -w

I've of course tried to install first a prebuild sage binary,
but unfortunately my processor doesn't support some

Hi SAGE teamT.
So I've tried to rebuild from scratch.
I've encountered several times this error message :

Hello.
OK, you're probably right, it's a hardware problem. It's the
most credible explanation, even if the exact circumstances
triggering it will remain obscure. I will follow your suggestions
and try a step by step compilation, following the script.

Hello.
Sorry, I should have exposed my case more thoroughly.
You said : "Why are you trying to building
again after compilation of a given package fails? Won't it just fail
again?"
No. For example, I've tried to compile Atlas (the process takes
about 5 hours), may be 4 or 5 times and the last a
Hello folks.
I'm afraid this is may be not possible, but however
here is a suggestion. I strive to compile Sage
on a somewhat weak/outdated hardware.
Actually, the problem is not at all that
compilation as a whole takes a very long time, but the
fact that when a compilation of a given package whi

Hello.
I've downloaded GD (2.0.35) directly from the source site and
compiled it without problem.
The SAGE log file is somewhat terse ; to quote it :

OK, but why the process yielding the makefile failed ?
Just in case, I've noticed the
