Having just installed ubuntu 12.04 server on a new machine I built and
tested Sage 5.11.beta3 (how else to test it?)
I used make after doing export MAKE='make -j' (the machine has 32
cores) and after building most stuff it froze, I saw via "ps aux" that
there were a huge number of python processes

I've sligthly updated http://trac.sagemath.org/wiki/Cygwin64Port with more
current info.
I should be able to provide a fixed MPIR (at least building and linking
correctly, not sure about the long long issue) during the week.
