Sorry I forgot to say that you should give execution permission to this
file before running it, these are steps to folow:
- after uncompressing the tar.gz file you should enter the result directory
via terminal:
cd Ayat-v1.0.8_linux/
- then you should run this command:
sudo chmod +x Ayat\ 1.0.8\ in

For Ayat under ubuntu you should download this file first
http://quran.ksu.edu.sa/ayat/?do=download&os=linux&type=standard&ver=latest
and then uncompress it and run the file: Ayat 1.0.8 installer
