Hi,
I would suggest that you open on issue on s3cmd github so that it will be
more easy to investigate.
Also, you can try to run s3cmd with the "-v" (or more verbose "-d") flags,
and so you can have an idea of what is happening.

Hey I have been using s3cmd sync, to download from s3 to ec2 instance, s3
bucket is in singapore and ec2 in mumbai region, have seen the data
transfer cost being pretty high after i started to use s3cmd. I have a cron
job that runs every 15 minutes the s3cmd sync cmd. so in a day i would run
