IO Error Question

When using the --delete option on rsync, I am getting an IO Error. I'm assuming that this means the operation failed. :) But, the permissions are right for file deletion, etc... What could it be? Also, if I use the --ignore-errors option, does this just disable the exit function, or does it ac
