Not sure if it matters or not, but are you using the hfs+ version of
rsrync? If not, you definitely should do that no matter what.

ie, when using it locally (or via a mounted network volume), will I
*ever* have to worry about my actual source files being delete
mistakenly (instead of dest. files)?
