As stated, this wasn't an rsync issue. However, since I did post the issue
here I felt I should also post what resolved it(seems to)...Disabling APIC
in the BIOS appears to have returned everything to normal.
Thanks, Phil

I've tried to keep it as simple as possible considering...

Hi All.
Since it's a lengthy one to explain, I'll jump right into my issue:
I run rsync on 3 debian systems for the purpose of backing up approximately
500GBs of various types of data. The general strategy is two systems hold
full backups and the third holds incremental's using date-based --backu
when
the name does not contain a whitespace. Is this problem rsync specific?
Thanks, Philippe

Hello,
The file was modified while you're rsync running. I got the same problem.
You can check this by the error code returned by rsync in this case (24)

How can I solve this ?
PS: I use the same script to synchronise ext3 filesystem as well.
Thanks.

Hi,
The pb is resolved.
I installed the new version of rsync ( 4.2.6 instead of 4.2.5 ) and I used gcc ( v
2.95.2 instead of v2.8.1 ).
All is Ok now.
