Gut level feeling here, I'm no rsync expert - but since Rsync is invoked
often through a transparent shell, would it not be possible to create a
script that uses the same shell to invoke a command on the server that
"pushes" the files onto the client? a problem when the clients do not have

protected enough to only crash the application process, and not damage
itself, often the kernel flaw is stimulated by an errant or out of range
value in it's input which woudl cause the user process to crash if the

If I rsync a directory from a cygwin PC (invoked on the PC) to a unix
server through ssh, the first time all works fine, then if I do it again
and there are no copys it crashes on the PC. If I touch one file on the PC
so it copys at least one file then
