I just got done dealing with this problem.
It was solved for me using the
--rsync-path=/usr/local/bin/rsync
flag, specifying the remote location of rsync.
It be great if someone knew how to avoid using
this parameter.

Is there a way to have rsync not prompt for a password.
I've tried using .shosts and also the authorized_keys files,
but neither seem to work. Is there anyway to modify the
rsh or ssh commands that rsync uses?
