Am using rsync to mirror all mailboxes to a backup server.
I have configured rsync to run every 1 min. we have around 50 mailboxws for now.
Plz advise if ok to run rsync every 1 min.

Thanks for the quick response. Can you please explain how this would
work? I am not very familiar with xinet.d, and I don't see a rsync
file in the /etc/xinetd.d/ dir.

by accident I realized RSync (version 3.0.5, Ubuntu 9.10) uses the root
directory when the path value of a module is empty!
This can cause loss of data (in my case RSync tried to get and delete the
complete directory structure of a server instead of a FTP sub-directory,
but luckily I had set
Here is some news :
I found what was the problem, just an rsync compiled in 32bits on OES1
triyng to speak with an rsync compiled in 64bits on OES2 !
After replacing the 64bits by a 32bits binary it's working fine!
