It would be 'nice' if there was an option for rsync to ignore case --

is real lax about what case files are, and often files will end up with
different cases
depending on what util installed a font last.
When you transfer to linux, you end up with 2 (or more) copies of files

We've never been able to use rsync on cygwin reliably. We tried loads of
things and whenever its been brought up on the cygwin list, the answer has
always been that its down to issues with pipes implementation, which was a
short coming of the underlining OS so nothing that could be fixed.

Thanks Steve. Version 1.5 of cygwin has worked flawlessly for me for years.
That could be a solution as well (downgrade).

The problem seems to be happening to many people. It seems the problem is
related to cygwin. One temporary solution is to downgrade clients to the
previous version of cygwin (1.5)
