The CVS version is more stable than 2.6.4 because it's almost entirely
composed of bug fixes (I'm working toward a bug-fix release in the not-
too-distant future).
Client :: Server
Local :: Remote
Sender :: Receiver
Reader :: Writer
Anything that makes the pull behavior like the push behavior should help.
The overall problem is that of the transfer and gets into the bit
about the whole being more than the sum of the parts.
If I have control of both
Hi Wayne,
The patch doesn't just drop in as there's additional code to handle "verbose"
mode in the 2.6.4 code which is not in the most recent "nightly" tarball. It
looks trival to insert the patch manually. Should this be OK or is the most
recent "bleeding edge" more stable? I'm very concerned

If you had specified a filename (that exists on the server)
and the client gets nothing
There is a good chance that you wanted to use --recursive.

Well what if you don't have web access? You don't mention what to do
then. "Send bugs to rsync@lists.samba.org" probably. OK. Will do.
Here's one now:
$ rsync -avz debian.linux.org.t

Thanks for the test case -- it makes things really easy to fix.
Attached is a patch that fixes this bug. It's for the CVS version
but it should apply to 2.6.4 as wel
I've looked around for a bug report on this problem and haven't seen one, so I
apologize if this has already been discussed.
I have a homegrown script which uses rsync to maintain daily backups of roughly
twenty Redhat Linux systems running RH 7.2, 7.3, AS 3, and AS 4. As there are
files with mul

I just downloaded it, and it's fine.
