Hi All,
I have an error code 23 (shown below) which I can't debug:
I am using:
$ rsync --version
rsync version 2.6.2 protocol version 28
Here's the command I execute:
rsync -av --delete /Users/mydir /Volumes/FireLite\ 60\ GB/backup/
After the transfer which apparently transfers the files correct
Hi,
I'm sure I'm missing something simple but I can't find it.
We just set up a new server with Fedora Core 2 and I'm trying to set up
an rsync to it. I've had this working to a Debian machine, so I'm
almost sure my config is rsync config is good.
I'm running rsync 2.6.2-1 in daemon mode on the se
Forgive me if this is a FAQ, but Google hasn't helped me find what I
want to know.
If I have a local file at:
/some/local/path/file.zip
And I want it to arrive on the remote machine at:
/other/foreign/directory/file.zip
But only /other exists, is there any way to have rsync create the

Hi,
An offtopic quesiton, but I could not think of asking any other list
where it might be answered.
I have a client uploading a few designs (25-30 Mbs) daily at a remote
ftp server. We download them in morning. Since we have a slow
connection we daily waste a couple of hours downloading it. Is

Hello, I'am using rsync with following options to sync a package repository
from the SUN server svsan131 to svsan133 (also SUN Server):
RSYNC -e "ssh -l $SYNC_USER -i $SSH_TOKEN"
--rsync-path=/opt/bin/rsync_dir_link -aRHvz --delete $dir $REMOTE_SRV:/
Everything works well, but when I check afte

Thank you, Chris!
That's excellent that most of the code is already written. All
that is needed now is something like "dry-run", that will tell it
not to apply the changes, but

I've been using rsync to remotely backup my MySQL databases
(totalling over 3 gigabytes) and it works nice and fast.
Now I'm trying to setup my system to save yesterday's backup
before applying today's backup, but it's not really feasible to
keep a 3gig backup for each day, and I'd rather just sto

I tried copying rsync.exe from an older but working installation (Win2k). This
was rsync 2.6.0. That did not fix the problem. Tonight I will try copying in

Hi all,
I'm trying to connect across the internet to an rsync server (cwrsync
running on WinXP) from a Linux box. I have opened up the TCP port 873 on
the remote firewall and opened a hole in the Windows firewall, but I am
still getting the error:
rsync: failed to connect to 217.64.121.18: Conn
