Hi, I have a problem with my rsync daemon. The daemon server is located in Melbourne Victoria/Australia (Server A) and the 2 slaves are in Malvern Victoria/Australia (Server B) and Washington DC (USA). (Server C) Server B and Server C both get data from Server A around every 5-10 Minut

As far as I know --force has no effect anymore because --delete was redesigned since it was originally written (this is explained in the man page). At least I haven't been able to come up with any examples of where it makes a difference. -z certainly would have no effect on whether or not files

I think what you may be looking for is dump. Dump can keep incremental changes to a filesystem (although not actually within files) as successive smaller backups. Rsync's algorithms don't necessarily lend themselves to tape nearly as well as to disk to disk replication. -- Sean Berry
