Hi Brad,
thanks for all your work and suggestions. I followed all the preliminar
instructions (rtools, setting paths/home), installed rpy2 via the
precompiled binaries and now the module loads successfully.

Fixed this by adding the path to R.dll to PATH environment variable.

I tried to install rpy2 using this new installer (release 2.6.6), on a
Windows Vista 32bit SP2 system, Python (x,y) 2.7.2.3 (last version).
