set R_HOME=C:\Program Files\R\R-2.8.0 should fix this. It looks like
your R_HOME variable is set, but set to a wrong value.

That would be helpful. Probably the best thing to do is to create an
installer for both R 2.7.2 and R 2.8.0.
The build script should automatically pick up all of the installed
versions of R.
