x2, I'd like to know what was the cause of your problem so we could make sure
it isn't a problem for other people.
In the future, if you want to play with a development cluster on a single
machine, you can clone from github and do a `make devrel` which will create
four nodes in their own direct
Can you detail or post any links to your solution? Someone may come across this

Ok it is definitely one of those days. I've come home and tried to install
on my home pc. And now I get this error:
Compiled src/etop_txt.erl

Thanks for all your help
Hey Nick,
Not solving your problem, but I known the excited-why-wont-this-work-right-now
sentiment. I had a riak cluster up and running in very little time using
Centos 5.6 and the rpm's from basho (riak-1.1.1-1.el5.x86_64.rpm). No errors,
and as I recall, no requirements. Adding addition no
Now I've got an ubuntu VM and I'm getting this error:

Dear Riak users,
we are evaluating Riak for storing data similar to the dataset in the
tutorial example ("goog.csv" at

). However, the mapreduce seems to be very slow. We have generated
200k lines exactly in the goog.csv format
Hey Nick,
I just built Riak from master and didn't have any issues with it. Any other
details about your setup you can share?
Alternatively, you can try using one of the pre-built packages. [1]
If the troubles persists, hop into #riak on freenode if you can and we'll
get you some help in real ti
Alternatively if you have git available you can simply clone basho/riak from
GitHub:

After that you should have your 4 node dev environment up and be able to
continue with the guide.

Hi Anand,
The brew install actually gives you compiled code, and no makefile. In
addition, the startup scripts are slightly different that when installing from
source.
I recently answered the same question on StackOverflow which should point you
